TAL2C

TAL2C is a fast, 32-bit TAL compiler with a C code generation back-end that converts programs written in TAL to ANSI/ISO Standard C/C++.

TAL2C runs under Windows and is more intelligent than a simple text converter:

  • TAL2C understands TAL semantics, enabling you to preserve the logic of TAL source code in converted C output code

  • Original comments are preserved in context

  • Tal2C can be configured to generate C code that uses HP's proprietary extensions, suitable for compilation by HP's C and NMC compilers

  • The resulting C code can be directly compiled on many popular platforms, such as Windows NT and Unix

  • TAL2C output can feed directly into HP NonStop's C/C++ compiler

Pricing

Fee structure based on a TAL2C license fee and one of three conversion options as outlined below.

  • License fee

    Based on the number of lines of TAL to be converted and ranges from US$0.125 per line to US$0.0125 per line depending on the number of lines.

    An administration fee may apply for conversions of under 50,000 lines.

Conversion options:

  • Customer does conversion

    License fee payable at time of order plus 20% in advance for annual maintenance and support.

  • Gresham does the conversion at client site

    License fee payable at time of order plus US$1250 per day for duration of conversion, plus one day per trip travel time. Add travel/accommodation/expenses at cost.

  • Gresham does the conversion at Gresham offices

    License fee payable at time of order plus US$1000 per day for duration of conversion. Fixed price option available on application.
